Window Service Technician

Western Products is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Window Service Technician to service and repair previously installed window products in our customers’ homes. In this role, you will analyze customer situations, determine corrective action to be taken, verify the action has fixed the situation, and keep team members informed of customer interactions and actions taken, as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Follow established processes and make recommendations for improvements
  • Stay up to date on product and installation process changes; recommend and, when needed, write technical tips for installation or service
  • Submit required paperwork that is neat, accurate, thorough, and completed in a timely manner
  • Keep service area neat and organized
  • Provide detailed information to Customer Relations Specialists
  • Maintain a professional image through appropriate clothing, vehicle upkeep, and conduct within the customer’s home
  • Provide a high level of customer satisfaction

Requirements

  • High school degree
  • Valid, insurable driver’s license with the ability to obtain a DOT medical card
  • 3 years of window installation experience required
  • Basic metal brake experience preferred
  • Ability to learn service procedures to repair previously installed windows
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confrontation/conflicts using a tactful and diplomatic approach, all while maintaining perspective under demanding conditions
  • Proven interpersonal communication skills; strong listening and empathy skills; and organizational skills for managing work schedules, job priorities, and stock levels
  • Strong diagnostic abilities, including assessment, problem-solving, and decision-making
  • Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Basic math skills, legible writing, basic personal computer skills, and the ability to use an iPad or tablet for completing required paperwork, timecards, etc.
