Safety Coordinator

Are you passionate about safety in the workplace? Do you enjoy sharing knowledge and training others? Join the Western Products & Affiliates team as our Safety Coordinator! In this role, you will provide technical safety and health support to our production and office personnel, develop company-wide safety and health programs and objectives, and coordinate safety training programs. If you have excellent communications skills and work well under pressure, we would love to hear from you!

Responsibilities

  • Identify and ensure compliance with all local, state, federal, and company health, safety and environmental policies, procedures, programs, and standards
  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct all safety training, classes, and programs
  • Maintain and update company safety manuals with necessary revisions
  • Investigate all incidents, causes of accidents, or injuries to determine root causes and develop solutions to minimize or prevent recurrence
  • Manage company injury and incident claims
  • Establish and maintain all required job safety records
  • Keep up to date with current safety and health regulations

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in the safety field
  • Strong knowledge of construction and general industry safety standards
  • OSHA 10- or 30-hour safety training certification
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with employees, contractors, and stakeholders
  • Ability to audit entire jobsites, including tasks involving heights, enclosed spaces, ladder use, and extreme temperatures
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to enforce safety protocols consistently
  • Willingness to travel outside the Fargo-Moorhead area
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record
