Accountant – Accounts Receivable

As an Accountant with Western Products & Affiliates, you’ll be part of our robust accounting team. This position focuses primarily on accounts receivable. In this role, you will communicate with customers and production as needed and share ideas to help improve overall accounting functions. A successful candidate will demonstrate a strong analytical capability and a desire to roll up his/her sleeves and get things done. The right candidate has the potential to achieve responsibility in project management for specialty areas within the accounting team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of accounts receivable
  • Perform job cost accounting and accounts payable
  • Handle A/R daily invoicing
  • Prepare and file sales tax reports
  • Assist Senior Accountant in reconciling general ledger accounts to subsidiary records
  • Generate reporting and analysis for management

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or above in Business Administration, Accounting, or similar; or 3-4 years related accounting experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn company-specific software systems
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to work with a variety of departments
  • Comfortable handling challenging customer interactions and following up on past-due accounts to achieve timely payment
  • Work with a sense of urgency and efficiency, especially under tight deadlines
  • Desire to learn additional accounting functions to grow with our company
