How is an Olhausen billiards table better than any other table available? Olhausen has manufactured over 500,000 pool tables since 1973 – they know that choosing quality components make the different between a good table, and a great table. That’s why Olhausen chooses only the highest quality woods available and uses only Accu-Fast cushions.

What type of wood is used? Several species of North American hardwoods, including Red Oak, Maple, Cherry and Walnut – some exotic imported hardwoods such as African Rosewood, Brazilian Cherry and Genuine Mahogany are also used. Olhausen® uses only the highest quality of “slow growth” trees for the construction of their pool tables. Slower growth trees have tighter growth rings, meaning tighter wood grains and far less streaking and discoloration. It is also much more dense and stable, allowing for a more precise grain and color matching.

Does the lumber go through a special finishing process? Selecting high quality lumber is only part of what makes Olhausen the “Best in Billiards”, all lumber used in Olhausen® Billiard tables is cured and processed to remain stable in any climate. It is dried to the optimum moisture content to allow for the best results in gluing, cutting, sanding and finishing. After the grains are matched, the lumber is immediately sealed, keeping the moisture content consistent to prevent warping and cracking during the assembly and finishing process.

Will the cushion rubber on my table wear out? Olhausen® manufactures their cushions with highest grade of 100% pure gum rubber. This premium-quality rubber is processed with proprietary chemicals and pigments to increase accuracy and produce consistent play. To prevent the tendency of rubber to revert to its natural soft state, Olhausen also uses special "anti-reversion" chemicals. And because of scientific advances in the curing of rubber, canvas control fabric is not needed with Accu-Fast cushions. Olhausen® is so confident in the integrity of Accu-Fast cushions, they are included in the Lifetime Warranty.

Do I have to worry about the felt on my table pilling? Manufactured by Hainsworth, Olhausen® Accu-Guard™ clothes are used to cover Olhausen® tables. The Accu-Guard™ finish offers superior spill protection and is resistant to shedding, pilling and fading.
